4 Tips for Making the Most Out of Your Digital Menu Board

download (26)So you’ve made the plunge and decided to switch to a digital menu board in your drive-through, fast food restaurant, or coffee shop. What can you do to make sure that you’re using it to its greatest potential?

During your opening phases for preparation to implement digital menu boards, make sure to think about the full scope of your design and it should fit in seamlessly with your brand’s current design features and brand messaging. Don’t forget who you’re targeting!

1. Focus on pre-bundled combos or meals. Customers, whether in a drive-through or in line indoors, tend to get nervous when asked what they want to order. Devoting enough space to combo meals helps the customer make a decision fast, and can help you to up-sell products.

2. Make it readable. Customers often report that either menu boards are too high up, or the writing on them is too small. Nothing’s more frustrating than not being able to see the menu when you’re hungry-except maybe spending money on digital signage only to have nobody read it. Place your menu board in a visible location, and make your font large enough to read, even for someone who just walked in without their glasses.

3. Be smart with pictures. Our eyes are drawn to pictures, so make them count. Especially in food service, it’s important to have images of your products available-particularly the products you want to be selling more of. Want to sell more desserts? Combos? Drinks? Devote more pictures to them. Consumers will take notice.

4. Change it up. With the rise of digital signage, menu boards are now more dynamic than ever before. Changes on electronic boards can be made much more quickly and at a lower cost than they can with traditional boards-take advantage of this opportunity, and devote some space to changeable options! Don’t change your whole display regularly or people will get confused, but leave some space to make use of your dynamic menu board: use it to showcase specials, promotions, or seasonal messages. (Know your Audience) Think about the placement of your digital menu board. Are visitors walking by quickly, on a staircase or waiting in a workplace? How will this affect your skill to promoting to them? Keep in mind what the most suitable font size will be for the conditions provided along with how quickly the text and items should move or scroll.

Many customers stop to look at the menu each time they come in. Putting time and thought into how your restaurant or drive-through menu board is organized really can make a difference!

Everything You Ought To Know About Vehicle Wraps

download (23)Media companies are continuing to find ways to reach out and grab attention. Their marketing strategies have become extremely sophisticated and advertisements extremely eye catching. Vehicle wraps have been shown to be the most effective form of advertising available in today’s market.

Vehicle wraps also known as vehicle graphics and vehicle advertising is the most cost-effective way to spend your advertising dollars. Your advertising message can be displayed in a colorful and most entertaining way. Your advertising can be seen by tens of thousands of people a day, 24 hours a day and 365 days per year.

Vehicle Wrap Types

Vehicle wraps and vehicle graphics is suitable for:

1. Boats

2. Buses

3. Cars

4. Cargo Vans

5. Motorcycles

6. Trailers

What are the options?

– Full Wrap

The full wrap is the most effective marketing tool currently available. It incorporates your company colors, logo and marketing messages. All these style elements are combined with eye-grabbing graphics that turn heads.

– Partial Wrap

The partial wrap integrates your vehicle’s base color into the design of the marketing message. The philosophy behind the design is the same.

– Graphics

Pairing your graphics with lettering allows the graphics to do their job of creating interest while the lettering informs the consumer about your business and products.

– Lettering

Lettering alone identifies your basic business information. Although it lacks the graphics that are the visual hook of the wrap, it is still possible to catch the eye of motorists and pedestrians by increasing the font of the writing.

– Add-Ons

A window pert is a favorite add-on for the company that wants to include the rear windows into the marketing message. You can still look outside from the interior, but onlookers on the exterior only see your colorful advertising.

Importance of Vehicle Wrap Design

– 75% of those who view your vehicle graphics will develop an impression of your company based on the appearance of your truck.

– 99% will base their buying decisions on that same impression.

– Bright colors attention to your vehicle’s advertising message.

– Logos & photographs can attract more people.

– Your vehicle advertising will be seen on average for just 4-8 seconds.

If you’re considering graphics for vehicles, lettering, a partial wrap or a full vehicle wrap might be a good choice for you. If you really can’t decide, pick a company that designs, prints and installs vehicle graphics. They’ll get you on the right track no matter which direction you choose.

Using Vinyl Banners to Advertise

download (22)When choosing to advertise your business or project there are a variety of options on how to go about it. Options like TV ads, radio commercials, social media campaigns, and newspaper articles can take a lot out of your budget. One option that has proven to be successful time and time again is custom banners.

Most people are probably thinking, “Banners are better than Facebook?” and while that depends on what you are advertising and how much you have to spend, banners can a successful as well as cost efficient option for your business. I would highly recommend them for small businesses that thrive off of a local clientele.

Custom banners are highly durable yet can easily be removed and used over and over again. There are multiple ways to install them and most will come with grommets so you can easily attach them wherever you like without damaging the banner itself. For the banner to be successful, placement is key! If you are using it in front of your business, be sure it can be seen from afar and there are no trees or anything blocking the view for those driving by. Using a spot light at night may also be a good idea so customers can locate you.

Due to the fact that banners are made with vinyl, it is easy to create a fun, vibrant banner. Vinyl decals that are used for the lettering come it a variety of colors and can be cut to just about any size or shape. When designing your banner, it is important to keep in mind that you want the lettering to stand out and also be easily readable from afar. Picking a detailed script font may not be the best option. Also, make sure your colors pop, putting yellow lettering on a white background can make it very hard to read, however if you use a black background the yellow will really stand out.

Graphics are also key and can be what sets your banner apart from the others. Be sure your image is eye grabbing but not so distracting that it takes away from the information you’re trying to get out there. Many sign shops have the capability of printing out multi-colored images (much like you printed them off on your home computer) giving you the opportunity to use your own graphics and logos without having to simplify them.

One of my favorite things about using banners is their versatility. If you want to hang it on the side of your building, you can do that. If you go to trade shows often or are setting up booths banners are great options for that as well in that they can easily be moved around and folded up when you’re ready to go!

No matter what your business, custom banners are a simple, cost efficient option to help advertise your business. From their versatility to the wide range of design options, they are truly a great option for all your signage needs.

5 Reasons You’re Not Getting Good Work Out of Your Advertising Agency

download (24)Business owners know one key to profit and successful growth is an effective advertising campaign. After all, it’s tough to stay in business when people don’t know about your business. Hiring an advertising agency is a smart way to get creative solutions for company recognition, but sometimes that’s not enough. Your sales may remain flat and your customer base may stagnate or even drop off if you’re not getting good work out of your advertising agency. If you’re not getting the results you were hoping for – the ones that you’re paying hard-earned money for – here are five reasons why that may be case:

You’re not being honest with the agency

An ad agency is there to solve problems, not read minds, so give clear direction on where you’d like advertising to take your company – and if you don’t know the answer to that then make sure you let your agency know. If you see something you like in an otherwise bad strategy, point it out and let your group work on that. Give open feedback to a new pitch by talking about what exactly it was you liked about a suggestion or idea. Speak up about what you didn’t like, too. Vague reactions such as, “It was okay,” and “I’d like more zing out of this,” don’t help clarify objectives. And that just lengthens the process of discovering your company’s best direction.

Limited Focus

Some agencies specialize in social media campaigns. Others excel at search engine optimization. And others still are best at working on in-print initiatives. What you need is an agency that works with where your customers are. Finding an agency that does everything well is obviously ideal but may not be realistic with your price-point. Therefore, if you’re not getting the results you expect be sure to ask your agency where they’ve placed their advertising emphasis and why it’s there. High quality agencies will have data to back up their focus, and not just say it’s because that’s where they get their best results. If your agency doesn’t have a satisfactory answer to this simple question, it may be time to search the marketplace again.

You’re lost in the shuffle of a big agency

Let’s face it, an advertising agency is a business and like any business it’s looking to make money. Sometimes that means growing bigger and gaining other clients – some of the same goals your company may have. However, as a client of a growing agency it may mean a lapse in the attention your company deserves. It doesn’t even take a massive agency for this to happen either. If you’ve been with a particular group for a while you may find that your business takes a backseat to their appeal of gaining the favors of a new client. Chances are the solution to this is a straight-forward discussion (see reason 1 above) with your advertising director in order to get back to receiving an appropriate and prosperous level of devotion.

They’ve lost their objective viewpoint

An agency should have a mixed bag of clients in their portfolio. The ability to tackle creative hitches from a myriad of industries allows for a fresh perspective on each niche’s glitches. Make sure you know what other clients your agency has. If most of them are in a field that is similar to yours then the old saying, “You can’t see the forest for the trees,” may apply. You need an agency that can lend you an outside perspective on gaining recognition, customers, and revenue. That’s what sparks innovation. Going through the same old motions over and over will only make a for a unimaginative rut and an ineffective advertising directive.

The chemistry isn’t right

In reality, just about any advertising agency can do the type of work your business is asking for. They’ll all have different ideas, and some will be more successful than others, but the way to ensure your agency is providing you the ideas that work best for your business is by ensuring you have great chemistry. No advertising strategy is going to be a hit on the first pitch. In fact, it’s going to take dozens of meetings and hundreds of emails, phone calls, and texts to crystalize the best creative content. So if you’re going through this process and you don’t really like the people you’re working with, or maybe they don’t like your company, then getting to that golden place where a novel idea meets measureable results is going to be ever more unlikely. Make things easier on yourself: work with an advertising agency that understands your needs AND that you enjoy working with. You’ll get receive better work and much less stress along the way.

Vinyl in Advertisements

download (25)In today’s society, advertisements bombard us on a daily basis. Chances are a large portion of outdoor advertisements you see have some sort of vinyl decal applied to them. But why vinyl? Why not use a heavy plastic or metal, something a little sturdier? We’ll cover why vinyl is the most popular option for this application.

First of all, it’s important to know what vinyl is. Vinyl is defined as a synthetic resin or plastic consisting of polyvinyl chloride particularly used for covering materials. Essentially it is a very thin and versatile plastic. As we all know, plastic has a million uses and is water proof, making it ideal for outdoor use. Because of the thin nature of vinyl, it is also very flexible, yet durable which means it can easily be cut into different shapes and placed on a variety of surfaces.

If you are going to spend the money on advertisements, you want them to last a long time. Vinyl is durable, light weight, and waterproof. This means that it can withstand all types of weather for long periods of time without being damaged or worn out. Vinyl graphics are also great on vehicles for advertising purposes and can withstand the everyday wear and tear the roads and weather may throw at it.

The purpose of signs is to get recognized and remembered by potential customers. This means you need to create a sign that stands out from the crowd. The beauty about vinyl is that the design possibilities are essentially limited to your computer design skills or the number of fonts you have access to. Vinyl also comes in hundreds, if not thousands of colors and prints. If you’re working with a designer to create your sign they can help you to choose the colors, font styles, and graphics that will be best for your advertising needs. Be sure to pick something that will stick out but is still easier to read. For example, a bright green on a yellow background or even white may not be that easy to read from down the street, especially on a sunny day. Contrast is key and makes your advertising stand out more!

Vinyl itself is not adhesive. However, the vinyl decal making scientists (that’s not a technical term by the way), have seemed to come up with a few good adhesives that keep your decals sticking for years to come! Depending where you order from they may have reusable decals which I have found do not stay up as long due to their lack of stickiness, there are also permanent decals which require a heat gun and some fingernail strength to remove. There are also options in between but most sign makers have a specific brand they work with so I’d be sure to ask before ordering!
